Garden Wilmot members honoured for years of volunteer service

Members of Garden Wilmot were recently recognized for their outstanding dedication and years of volunteer service at a special Ontario Volunteer Service Awards ceremony held at Bingemans in Kitchener on Wednesday, Oct. 1.

The ceremony, one of 40 held across the province each year, celebrates volunteers who have made long-term commitments to organizations that strengthen their communities.

Representing Garden Wilmot, six members were recognized for their years of service: Shirley Becker (10 years), Sandra Cressman (35 years), Judy Rivers (20 years), Sharon Ross (10 years), Marilyn Sararus (30 years) and Janice Wagler (15 years).

Kitchener Centre MPP Aislinn Clancy and Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae attended the ceremony to offer their congratulations and present the recipients with commemorative lapel pins in honour of their service.
