The Wilmot Horticultural Society (WHS) is a volunteer, member-based society and registered Canadian charity. WHS continues to exist because of the generosity of our wonderful volunteers, individual donors, the Ontario Government and Wilmot Township and through our membership fees.
We make a difference by:
-
Providing volunteers, education, and expertise to enhance the trees and forest ecosystems in Wilmot Township through our Let’s Tree Wilmot project
-
Engaging and teaching our junior gardeners about gardening and the environment with hands-on activities
-
Creating and taking care of the more than 70 civic gardens in Baden, St. Agatha, Petersburg, New Dundee, Haysville and New Hamburg including examples of pollinator, healing, heritage and native gardens
-
Donating gardening and environmental books to the Region of Waterloo Library
-
Providing knowledgeable speakers or activities for our local meetings (Jan. to May and Sept., Oct., an outing in June and a potluck in Nov.) See Events for upcoming meetings.
-
And more…
