Let’s Tree Wilmot, a project of Wilmot Horticulture
, is planning 2021 events for the spring and fall.
Join us for a Zoom meeting at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, February 16th.
We are looking for dreamers, schemers, and planners to join the various committees.
We had our introductory meeting last March, with dozens of volunteers excited about this new initiative, and then we did the COVID shuffle.
Even with some ups and downs, we successfully completed an October planting of 100 trees at Scott Park, New Hamburg.
We are excited to let everyone know that we are energized and have many new projects ready to be worked on this year.
Please attend and share this invite with others who you think would be interested in helping to transform our community.
We have plans to plant hundreds of trees across Wilmot this year, educate local residents about the importance of planting and maintaining their trees, as well as working with Township staff and councilors to adopt policies to better protect and grow more trees. Not only do we need to plant more trees in specific areas to offer shade, reduce flooding, create more inviting spaces, but we need to protect the precious trees we already have.
People with various skills and time are needed to help with task management, research, event planning, social media, community engagement, report writing, graphics, volunteer management, fundraising as well as caring for trees that have previously been planted.
If you have any skill and any interest, we need your help.
