Junior Gardeners Educational Event July 2025

A Junior Gardener educational event was held on June 4, 2025 at Meadow Acres.  The evening was hosted by Emma who provided information regarding native perennial plants.  This included the soil and sun requirements and what types of plants are considered to be native.  The event was attended by 15 youth.  

At the end of the training session, the youth were invited to select a variety of native plants for the garden beds at Castle Kilbride.  On June 6th, the youth met at Castle Kilbride where we planted the selected native plants in the two garden beds flanking the front staircase.
