A Junior Gardener educational event about native perennials was held on June 4, 2025 at Meadow Acres. The event was attended by 15 youth. At the end of the training session, the youth were invited to select a variety of native plants for the two garden beds flanking the front staircase at Castle Kilbride, which they planted on June 6.
A quick look at it today shows what a difference a year can make! They say, the best time to plant a tree was 30 years ago. The next best time is now. The same goes for plants. Get some native plants in your garden this year, and next year the pollinators will be buzzing!
Many thanks to our Junior Gardeners, Meadow Acres, Sharon Ross and other dedicated volunteers, for working towards keeping Castle Kilbride’s gardens beautiful and pollinator friendly!
